PRINCE & PRINCE TO PRESENT UPDATED U.S. CONSUMER FLORAL PURCHASING TRENDS AT SIFLOR 2014

IN MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA

Columbus, Ohio (August 04, 2014).   Prince & Prince (P&P) has been invited to present highlights of their updated consumer floral research at the International Symposium Floriculture (Siflor 2014) in Medellin, Colombia on August 28th, 2014 (conference runs from August 27th thru the 29th).   The objective of the presentation is to educate members of ASOCOLFLORES (Association of Colombian Flower Exporters) and EXPOFLORES (Association of Producers and Exporters of Flowers of Ecuador) of the current position and recent trends in the U.S. consumer cut-flower market, in terms of dollar purchasing, types of cut-flower products purchased, seasonal, holiday, and everyday floral demand, and trends in the level of U.S. consumer cut-flower purchasing at the various floral channels (e.g. supermarkets, super-discount stores, florist shops, web/Internet businesses, wholesale clubs, home centers, etc.).  The market information in the presentation is based on survey findings from the recently completed 2014 Prince & Prince (P&P) U.S. Consumer Floral Tracking Survey[1], and data comparisons with prior P&P consumer floral survey findings.   Over the past decade, P&P has obtained completed survey responses from several thousand randomly-selected floral-buying households throughout the U.S. on consumer floral purchasing, and a comprehensive consumer evaluation of the floral channels where floral purchases are made.  The seminar information will uncover key market opportunities, as well as reveal challenges for floral growers and suppliers that service the various retail and mass-market floral channels, who, in turn, service the U.S. floral consumer.

The presentation will comprise two sessions, the first detailing consumer floral demand with specific cut-flower purchasing trend data, and the second, a comprehensive consumer evaluation of the key U.S. floral channels, currently, and over the past several years.   The presentation will conclude with a question & answer session.   Thomas Prince, President of Prince & Prince, Inc., will be the presenter, with an introduction and consumer research overview by Bob Williams, Vice-President of Smithers-Oasis, North America (SONA).   SONA was P&P’s key research sponsor for the 2014 P&P U.S. Consumer Floral Tracking Survey, and SONA has full rights to the updated P&P consumer floral research through the 2014 season.   P&P sincerely thank SONA for granting release of this valuable market information to attendees at Siflor 2014.
